PRODUCTIONS

KRUIT! – 2015 | In 1817 hundreds of rebels led by the Moluccan folk hero Pattimura stormed the Dutch fort Duurstede on the island of Saparua. The rebels slaughtered every single person except for the 6 year old residents son. Jakarta Post – ‘The dialog of Pattimura, Jean Lubbert and Risakotta can be translated to the present, where violence still occurs and reconciliation remains a challenge’.

WESTERLING – 2018 | ‘Westerling’ portrays the life of the Moluccan ex-soldier Mozes under the command of the Dutch captain Raymond Westerling. Westerling was one of the most controversial figures during the Indonesian war for independence. The main characters draw a piece of shared history by sharing their personal perspectives and motives.

LAGU-DUA – 2018 | The first generation of Moluccans in the Netherlands expressed their feelings in well-known songs and poems a.k.a ‘lagu dan pantun’. During ‘Lagu-Dua’ actors, dancers and musicians present a fresh take on these popular traditionals. The intergenerational formation presents a soulful journey in the shape of live music, dance and spoken word.

OVER
